Walk With Me
Background
Walk With Me" had been completed a full year before the album's release, with the band occasionally performing it at live shows during this period.
Musically, the track draws inspiration from Australian duo Dead Can Dance. Martin was particularly captivated by Lisa Gerrard's hammered dulcimer performance, an instrument that features prominently in both the introduction and conclusion of "Walk With Me."
Renowned American avant-garde filmmaker Kenneth Anger—who famously inspired the Rolling Stones' "Sympathy for the Devil"—has also been cited as an influence. Jimmy Page was to compose the soundtrack for a movie by Angers. It was probably through this connection that Jeff Martin became aware of Anger's work.

Walk With Me is my favourite track on the album. I really like all the effects we threw on it. I like psychedelic shit like this! This is really cool!
During their live performances, The Tea Party frequently weaves cover songs seamlessly into their original material—a hallmark of their concert experience. When performing "Walk With Me," the band often incorporated Joy Division's iconic "Love Will Tear Us Apart,"
The song stands as one of the album's darkest compositions, serving as a sonic harbinger of the band's musical direction on their subsequent release, "Transmission."

lyrics
Tell me lady, shining sun
To feel the warmth that comes undone
Do you sleep in sympathy
And if it’s true, walk with me
All of the while, you were here
All of this time, you were near
And oh my dear
Come on lady, walk with me
Come on lady, talk to me
Can’t you see I’m all alone
Loneliness, I can’t condone
Come on lady, hold my hand
Take me to your shadow land
Sleep awhile in sympathy
Come on lady, walk with me
And in the twilight, the idols speak
And in the twilight, you’ll always seek
A sentimental forgotten friend
Who’s gonna love you until the end
All of the while, you were here
All of this time, you were near
And oh my dear
Come on lady, walk with me
Come on lady, talk to me
Can’t you see I’m all alone
Loneliness, I can’t condone
Come on lady, hold my hand
Take me to your shadow land
Sleep awhile in sympathy
Come on lady, walk with me
And now you search for the ideals
You’ll find a vice that always heals
The open wounds, the bleeding hearts
And still they’ll say, you’re torn apart
All of the while, I was here
All of this time, I was near
And oh my dear
Come on lady, walk with me
Come on lady, talk to me
Can’t you see I’m all alone
Loneliness, I can’t condone
Come on lady, hold my hand
Take me to your shadow land
Sleep awhile in sympathy
Come on lady, walk
Come on lady, walk with me
Come on lady, talk to me
Can’t you see I’m all alone
Loneliness, I can’t condone
Come on lady, hold my hand
Take me to your shadow land
Sleep awhile in sympathy
Come on lady, walk with me
Yeah
Me
Yeah
You
